Act Now, Stay Secure: Cyber Security at the Port Pirie & Kadina Career Expo

June 12th, 2025

CYBR CEO & co-founder Jasmin Ilic joined Cyber Security at the Port Pirie & Kadina Career Expo

The Career Roadshow is a premier careers event spanning five key locations in South Australia: Kadina, Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Whyalla and Port Lincoln. This event aims to connect local communities with employment and career opportunities.

This year the career expo also included supporting services that underpin all careers. CYBR was proud to deliver cyber security workshops. Our goal? To break down cybersecurity into something practical, memorable and approachable.

Across the two days, cyber security got put in front of 1,387 attendees. We are very proud to say that over 100 of these attendees participated in 1:1 or small group workshops.

Armed with interactive “Guess the... what?” jars and hands-on mini challenges, we helped spark curiosity and real conversations around topics like password safety and digital habits. The result? Sixty-two students walked away with bite-sized tips on protecting their accounts and managing passwords, delivered in a way that made sense and stuck.

These moments were more than just information-sharing. They were about creating impact, planting seeds of awareness and showing that cybersecurity does not have to be scary or complicated.

A special thanks to Uni Hub Spencer Gulf and Workforce Australia – Local Jobs – Mid North SA for recognising that cybersecurity belongs in every conversation, especially when shaping the future workforce.

At CYBR, we are proud to be part of the Act Now, Stay Secure programme and to bring our social impact work to communities that are often overlooked in national cyber conversations. Whether it is through a game, a conversation or a simple takeaway, we are here to make cybersecurity accessible for all.
